I love turning on the radio, listening to the teapot whistle and enjoying our newly remodeled house. Today is even better because it's raining and chilly which makes my hot tea all the more enjoyable. As far as the house, the renovation started two years ago and we are still in the "decorating stage." Drywall dust and hammering sounds are becoming distant memories. (Yay Rah!) It's nothing but fun these days!
We've been taking our time to shop for the right decor, and when possible adding our own hand-made touches. It's been difficult to look at a bare wall and not rush out and buy the first thing we see but taking our time has resulted in a more unique and eclectic hang-out.
This weekend I continued work in the dining room with prints I purchased on Etsy.com at the Lithograph Library. The graphics had to be printed in an 8x12 format so that the important details were not cut off. I have used the same print shop since 2011 -- Mpix.com and like always, they did an awesome job.
While waiting for my prints to arrive I attempted to find pre-cut wood to fit my photos but it was an impossible task. The next best thing... wait for my husband to work his magic with the saw. We had left over shiplap planks from another project so he assembled the boards in 10x14 size and stained them in Minwax Dark Walnut. I used Modge Podge (Matte finish) to attach them to the wood and also used a coat on the top of the photo to give them more of a canvas finish.
Another project complete but the biggest one of all is still due...blogging the entire before & after house remodel. That post might finally happen in another year or two! Ha!
